Rick Bettencourt hails from Massachusetts’ North Shore. In 2014, his novel Tim on Broadway was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award. Bettencourt’s collection of short stories (Not Sure Boys), published in 2013, received five nominations from the M/M Romance Group on Goodreads. His short story Pitch Black ranked third in a 2009 contest with Writer’s Digest.

Bettencourt likes to empower his readers with compelling stories. As he states, “I believe in the power of belief. I believe that thought creates action and can determine one’s life. I believe people can make profound changes in their lives, in ways they hadn’t realized they could. The way I’d like to leave behind my nugget of inspiration is to have influenced others with great stories.”
